Human nature and war - Essay ExampleApart from Mozart and Purcell, I had to choose van Beethoven to compose the birthday yell since he has breathtaking compositions like Fur Elise. Fur Elise is undoubtedly interesting. Most people much love classical piece by Beethoven. The other both composers Mozart and Purcell did not make it into my list to compose a birthday song, because they were not creative like Ludwig for the job. impertinent Ludwig, Mozart in most of his compositions uses minor signalizes, thus from my own opinion his composition will not suit the mood of the occasion. Also in most of his work, Mozart employs hard instrumentation, which will not make the arrangement intriguing to listen to considering it is a birthday party. Purcell is not a suitable alternative to compose the birthday song because he worked as organist at the Westminster Abbey thus, his compositions mostly rely on the keyboard instrument. Purcell composes long anthems, which makes me not to appoint h im as my main composer because he might compose an outstandingly long and repetitive birthday song. Since he mostly wrote operas, odes and accompanied stage music, makes him not an appropriate composer of my uncles birthday song. ... Since he developed an individualistic drift from the high classical style, he should make the birthday composition more appealing to the ear. This ambitious and virtuosic style will make the audience at the eve party more calm and the birthday my uncle happy. Beethoven (also known as the father of modulation) in the composition should not remain in the same key therefore should modulate to different keys. In some of his symphonies, Beethoven includes chorus and solo voices also in the birthday piece, he should include them to add debaucher and prove his creative personality. In the composed solo section, the libretto must be catching since I require them to bring teary emotion to my beloved uncle. I genuinely want my uncle to be happy since when li stening to Fur Elise and the fifth symphony by Beethoven the introduction generates a striking motif. I want my uncle to feel loved and cared for when listening to the composed song since most of the arranged compositions by Beethoven employ a distinct and individualized style. As he will be listening to the music, I want him to get both baroque and classical era music touch since Beethoven lived between those two periods. When listening to the compositions of Beethoven feels a development of works from Haydn and Mozart. Since my uncle has listened to works of both Haydn and Mozart, he will be to listen to a composition expanded on both of them. Beethoven is the perfect person to take the composition job. In most of his work like the opera Fidelio, he brings out the emotion perfectly. Since Beethoven is a transition composer between classical and the romantic era, am sure my uncle will enjoy the composition. The individualistic and creative

Even the food that we eat, in a way, brought together people from different countries to work in order to bring food on our tables. Kelsey Timmerman in her article, Its From Where?, looks a lot deeper into this globalization phenomenon and presents arguments which are quite obvious but are generally snub perhaps because of the result of globalization also. It is interesting though, for her to bring out the issue on globalization and draw her readers to the underlying problems which should become the concern of every citizen, in every country and if it may be mentioned, especially those who are from highly developed countries. The author points out that highly developed countries like the United States should become aware and be concerned about the workers from which the finished products that reach their houses, come from. This is because most of the workers are painfully paid too little in replacement for their quite difficult jobs. This paper then wants to dissect the arguments of Zimmerman, her approach, including her writing style and role. Timmerman does not only inform her readers. She also questions them. This technique is quite effective for her purpose to hold the attention of her readers and get them to take action. She informs her audience to convince them that she did not only read about some distant places and fictitious people in a well-crafted narrative. She does this by showing that she dealt with the people in her article and that they are as human as her readers. She also uses questions in order to appeal to the emotions and conscience of her readers. Psychology - Essay ExampleNormally, these performance appraisals tend to be tick the box shape. This in warmheartedness creates anxiety on the side of the management and that of the employees. After the performance appraisal has been competed they should not be shelved until the next physical exercise but they should be looked at at present to allow for appropriate review actions. This mountain help employees improve their performance. In most cases, problematic feedbacks are usually postponed or hidden or sometimes cheated about when filling the performance Appraisal form. bulk of managers do not want to report that those under them are not performing well for the upkeep of being responsible of their lack of promotion or a pay rise. The performance appraisal should be objective in nature. This is to say that, they should be broad(a) of professional perspectives and should not have any personal views. Usually personal views in the performance appraisals are biased and this is real detrimental. The process of performance appraisal should not come as a surprise to the employees. This is because, if all emphasis is placed on the process then, there is a possibility of generating tension at the build up phase. This can also reduce motivation on the side of the employees, which as a result can lead to decreased productivity. Majority of the employees in the organization should be satisfied with the performance appraisal processes. An appropriate performance appraisal should be a truly consented abstract of what has been going on continuously in the organization between appraisals. Surely, if the appraisal process is reviewed twice or thrice annually, all the chances to sustain and direct the workers to get better are missed. This is because managing of people is a continuous process and not a one-time activity. The managers should not put more focus on the process alone as this is very dangerous but they should rather look at the continuing performance mana gement. The managers should place their emphasis on the reason why the performance appraisals are carried out. The briny purpose why appraisals are conducted is to help employees become more effective. They also help the managers manage those under them well. The performance appraisal process should be an exercise that tries to unearth the truth about an individuals performance on the work function assigned in the organization and therefore it should be pragmatic and clear. Pros and Cons of the Death Penalty - Essay ExampleSeeking to research the moral perspectives of the death penalisation through an analysis of the deterrent argument as well as the application of lethal slam, a potentially poisonous and unusual punishment, the following will persuasively argue that the death penalization should be banned. Following this we will look at the death penalty using Emmanuel Kants Deontological and Categorical Imperative theories as well as Utilitarian theory. While the deterrence factor is brought into question, this essay will argue that lethal injection runs contrary to the prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment and thus should be banned in its entirety (The Death Penalty Information Centre 2009 spunk 2008).According to the Death Penalty Information Centre, there has been a global trend towards the abolishment of the death penalty. Despite this trend, there are a fistful of countries in the demesne which continue to use the death penalt y as a form of punishment. While 92 countries have now abolished the death penalty (including France, Canada and the United Kingdom), 59 countries worldwide continue to have death penalty legislation on their books. China, Saudi Arabia, the United States and Pakistan remain some of the largest supporters of the death penalty with China the overwhelming leader in total executions worldwide. What are the honorable and moral issues surrounding the death penalty? It is to this question that we now turn (Hood 2008 Robert 2000).From an ethical perspective, the death penalty raises a whole host of questions. Lethal injection, a particularly insidious form of capital punishment, is practiced throughout the United States and the world and aims to execute a convicted offender through the injection of a fatal amount of drugs. Affirmative Action Racism And Discrimination Essay Example for Free

Affirmative Action Racism And Discrimination Essaythe States is called the land of opportunity however, most of the countries citizens argon non able to enjoy the benefits that the title provides. Being able to accomplish scholastic goals, attend a four-year college, and to have an influential c atomic number 18er, are not gettable for many, even though they work hard. Our nation has long been plagued by an ugly occurrence. An occurrence that finds its themes at the very core of our society. It is a problem familiar in some ways to all of us bear uponless of which side of the argument we find ourselves, and yet it remains unsolved. To verify that a problem exists, as Beverly, Tatum explains, we must first understand, racism as a system of advantage based on race, and white privilege as unjust enrichment through racial oppression,(Tatum,pg 10, 115). near we must look at the steps interpreted to level the playing field of advanced racial groups. In America racism and discrimi nation is a cruel reality. For centuries now, local, state, and federal governments have been proactive in protecting or expanding the system of racial discrimination. White government officials and programs have often favored the racial and political-economic interests of white Americans. Government programs historically provided much access to homesteading land and numerous other valuable resources exclusively to white Americans (Feagin, 2010, p. 143). In an affords toward concern for equality, Affirmative accomplish was created. It was designed to counteract the effect that discriminatory practices have embedded in the American culture. Affirmative fulfil refers to policies that take factors including race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin into consideration in order to benefit an under represented group in areas of employment, education, and business, usually justified as countering the effects of a history of discrimination. The condition favor able action was first used in the United States in Executive Order 10925 and was signed by President John F. Kennedy on 6 March 1961 it was used to promote actions that achieve non-discrimination. In 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson enacted Executive Order 11246 which required government employers to take affirmative action to hire without regard to race, religion and national origin. In 1968, gender was added to the anti-discrimination list. A lively debate with sparks flying within racial group exists over the importance of the Affirmative action process. Some would argue that affirmative action undeservingly rewards minorities, and takes away from whites in effect causing reverse discrimination. Not long ago, Senator Bob Dole, a Republican presidential candidate, spoke in a television interview of displaced white men who compete with black workers because of affirmative action. He said that he was not sure as shooting that people in America (he meant whites) should be paying a p rice for discrimination that occurred before they were born. (Feagin, 2010, p. 15). Taking this evidence into consideration, should this influence the direction taken regarding affirmative action? University of California Regent Ward Connerly believes that affirmative action is used as a crutch that is ruining the relationship between blacks and whites. If this were true, would this be a good reason to halt government involvement in affirmative action programs? Would people identify these issues and take steps to run changes? Historically this has not been the case. Affirmative action programs have been successful in making social change. Minorities that have previously been excluded from opportunities have been afforded opportunities to achieve through affirmative action programs.Initially, affirmative action was a policy primarily aimed at correcting institutional discrimination where decisions, policies and procedures that are not necessarily explicitly discriminatory have had a interdict impact on people of color. Affirmative action policies address and redress systematic economic and political discrimination against any group of people that are underrepresented or have a history of being discriminated against in particular institutions. Beneficiaries of these programs have included white men and women, people with disabilities, and poor working disunite people, but their primary emphasis has been on addressing racial discrimination (Kivel, P)If our goal is to eradicate discriminatory practices, then our government must continue to mandate legislation, and stock certificate programs to address these issues. Following this conclusion it is clear to see that all evidence supports the benefits of affirmative action. What we have before us is a society with the possibility to make great strides in regards to changing the system of inequality. It is important that government lead in the direction that supports affirmative action programs. Government needs t o see this as the biggest problem on their social agenda, and it will take a significant effort to mandate change, but the benefit for everyone will be extraordinary.ReferencesFeagin, J. Strategical approach of comprehension

Strategical approach of loreDisadvantages of the Strategical Approach of ComprehensionFor students of English, it is listening comprehension that usually seems to be the hardest to master among the different skills of delivery learning. Therefore, at that place are numerous theories published in order to make listening tasks more sound and to devise more useful types of practice. One of these methods proposes the separate progress of particular sub-skills, of which listening comprehension is claimed to consist, and it also suggests the application of listening strategies, which theoretically make listening easier. It is not hard to realize, though, that however tempting they might seem, the strategic approach of listening comprehension means more needless work to students than improvement. To begin with, it has a negative effect on students results that this approach of comprehension underestimates the richness of practice. As business line (1998) formulates it, For fifteen years it has been axiomatic that more reading does not necessarily mean better reading. (p. 112). First, this idler mean that the exclusive genteelness of sub-skills does not allow comprehension to improve as a whole. Second, since different types of exercises require different strategies, learners might perform badly in the types not perform extensively. In summary, the subordinated role of practice fag have a negative effect on students. The second reason is that the exclusive use of authentic texts can significantly slow down the progress of students at a lower level of proficiency. First, as the strategic approach fails to realize the importance of grading texts, it can be unnecessarily difficult although the more adept can understand in a listening task, the more useful the particular task is, (Ridgway, 2000). Second, a less proficient student might lose motivation if the listening texts seem to be impossible to understand. Third, the theory of listening strategies suggests pred icting the meaning and guessing recondite words from content that, however, can lead to the reduced expansion of vocabulary. To summarize, the use of authentic texts can mean a definite disadvantage on certain(prenominal) levels of proficiency. Finally, one could say that listening strategies can prove extremely helpful for learners, but actually it consumes a significant amount of resources to practice these techniques. On the one hand, practising each of these techniques separately consumes a far larger amount of time than a student could afford at the expense of training other areas of language proficiency. On the other hand, the constant effort to choose the appropriate strategy can be very difficult and exhausting for students and is often futile Field (2000) himself tends to admit this, as well, it seems that they may not be capable of employing it appropriately in relation to a particular listening text or of compounding it successfully with other strategies that they have encountered. (p. 192). To summarize, the application of strategies requires more time and energy than the advantages it provides. In conclusion, it can be seen through various reasons that the strategical approach of comprehension is not as beneficial for students as it might seem in the beginning. First, it provides a smaller amount of practice for the students. Second, the extensive use of authentic texts suggested by this theory can be inappropriate for certain students. Third, the strategy-based approach is definitely more time- and energy-consuming than it is helpful. From the above mentioned points, it is clear that the use of different strategies is not required for effective language learning. ReferencesField, J. (1998).
